Since 1987, City Community Children's Centre has provided Adelaide families with high quality long day and evening/night child care services in the centre of the city.

We are a not-for-profit, community based early childhood education and care centre that is committed to providing quality child care that ensures the emotional well-being, physical safety and security of children in a happy and welcoming environment.

Our Centre caters for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age for long day care and 6 weeks to 10 years of age for evening/night care. We value each child as an individual, with their own strengths and experiences, and their own unique family background. We are committed to directing attention to additional needs, gender issues and cultural diversity.

Our Centre’s philosophy is to:

  • provide a stimulating, warm and supportive environment that fosters learning and enhances each child’s individual development;
  • encourage children to have fun and express joy in their learning experiences;
  • ensure the Centre’s staff work closely with families to enhance the growth and development of each child including open communication between families and the Centre’s staff alongside learning portfolios that are maintained for each child at the Centre; and
  • provide an environment that integrates on a daily basis resources that reflect different family backgrounds, and that involves families.

We encourage children to develop through play-based learning experiences alongside an educational program based on the Early Years Learning Framework.

For younger babies and toddlers (from 6 weeks to 3 years old) our Centre practices relationship-based care and education.  Primary care-giving forms the basis for our curriculum for young children, giving children a secure emotional base from which to learn and to make other relationships.

Our primary care-giving philosophy is supported by small group sizes in all rooms, allowing children and staff to quickly develop secure relationships. Our experienced staff ensure children have the opportunity to explore and discover in a warm, nurturing and respectful environment.

All rooms of our Centre provide and evaluate a care and education program that reflects not only the interests but the growing and changing developmental needs of the children.
